Wakodahatchee Wetlands
The best wildlife viewing experience in Florida!
Every year this unique wildlife preserve is the breeding ground for hundreds of water birds. It will be alive with young chicks — Woodland Storks, Great Blue Herons, Egrets and more. And the 3/4 mile elevated boardwalk gets you so close you could reach out and touch them! (But don't, or the patrolling rangers will kick you out!) We might even see “Big George” the alligator, circling for fallen babies. (See Linda's iphone photos above and below from last year)
WHEN: Saturday April 25th at 10:00 AM
WHERE:
Parking can be a challenge at Wakodahatchee, so if you don’t want to wait in a long car line, meet us at the Publix parking lot (see above) at 10 am and we will walk the 1/2 mile to Wakodahatchee. Afterwards we will walk back to Publix.
NOTE: If you want to try and park at Wakodahatchee, it is located at 13270 Jog Road, Delray Beach, FL 33484. Meet us at the entrance to the boardwalk at 10:30.
And don’t forget to bring your camera and binoculars. (Though you don't need binoculars for most of the birds because they're so close!)
