Evening Walk and Picnic in Boca
Join us for a 2 or 3 mile mostly shaded walk in the beach side parks in Boca Raton, followed by a picnic where we will watch the beautiful sunset from a park on the intracoastal. Bring chairs, snacks and your favorite beverage.
We meet at 5:45 and begin our walk in the public parking area at the Red Reef Gold Course (on the West side of A1A, across the street from the Red Reef Park beach entrance). Look for our green Boca Ski Club flags. You can easily choose to walk either two miles or three.
Parking is $3/hour with a 4 hour max, and credit cards are accepted. If you have a Boca Beach Pass you can park across the street in Red Reef Park for free, but beware - it's $35 without a pass.
Walk Logistics
1. Walk south towards South Beach Park Pavillion, 1 mile, then return to start of walk (2 miles round trip).
2. For those who want more walking, walk north .5 mile, to the end of the park, then return to parking lot (1 mile round trip; total of 3 miles walking including step 1).
3. For those who have had enough walking after step 1, head to the parking lot and get ahead start on the picnic & beverage portion of our event.
Event Logistics
Bring the usual water, sunhats, sunscreen, bug juice, chairs for the 2nd part of the event.
Bring your favorite beverage (BYOB) and easy snacks (to share, if you're a sharer) for after the walk. Think cheese, crackers, bread, nuts, fruit, dried fruit, dips, and chips, etc.
The parking area has a lovely grassy picnic spot right on the intracoastal. It does have one covered pavilion with a picnic table, but no guarantee we will get it.
