This will be an interesting bike ride in Wellington on mostly paved bike paths. The ride will start at 10:00 AM at the Wellington dog Park (GPS: 2965 Greenbriar Blvd, Wellington) where there is free parking. Please arrive early enough to have bikes ready for pedals up at 10am. The first loop of the ride will follow a paved bike path to a nature center built around a water storage area.
The second loop follows a paved bike path around Aero Club. This is a fly in community with beautiful homes, airplane hangars, and a long paved runway suitable for twin engine jets. For those wanting a shorter ride (approximately 8 miles), there is a paved bike path back to the dog park.
The balance of the ride is a mixture of paved bike paths and streets with very low traffic. We have selected a number of loops that go past both multi-million dollar homes and barns. A number of these loops have easy access to Greenbriar Blvd and return to the dog park. Thus the riders may choose the distance they wish to go from 12 to nearly 20 miles. Al Sarnotsky will lead the longer route & Barry Friedfeld will lead the shorter route
After the ride, we have reservations at noon at Rays Hideaway; 12041 Southern Blvd, Loxahatchee, FL 33470 – 561-469-2333.
